Dessa metoder används regelbundet för att utvärdera investeringar, regleringar och lagstiftning inom allt från läkemedelsanvändning till miljölagstiftning. Efter avslutad kurs skall du vara väl förtrogen med hur man praktiskt tillämpar ekonomiska utvärderingar baserat på välfärdsekonomisk teori. Ett viktigt delmoment i kursen är hur man beräknar och ekonomiskt värderar effekten av olika typer av åtgärder som exempelvis nya läkemedel, infrastrukturinvesteringar, och miljöinvesteringar. Andra delmoment inkluderar hur man ska utvärdera åtgärder som sträcker sig långt in i framtiden, samt hur man ska hantera osäkerhet i ekonomiska utvärderingar. This course deals with the economic evaluation methods cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness analysis. Economic evaluations are frequently used by public policy decision makers to evaluate and prioritize different investments, regulations and laws. After completion of this course you should be proficient in theoretical as well as applied economic evaluation issues. A major part of the course deals with how to estimate and value effects of different interventions, such as new pharmaceuticals, infrastructure investments, and environmental investments. Other important parts of the course are how to evaluate policies that stretch far into the future, as well as how to deal with the inherent uncertainties in economic evaluations of public policies. Assessments: The course can be assessed through written examination, take-home examination, compulsory course components, paper, essay and/or oral examination.
