I kursens första del behandlas ingående sannolikhetsteori, fördelningsteori och egenskaper för ett slumpmässigt urval. I den andra delen behandlas utförligt punktestimation, hypotesprövning och intervallestimation för såväl små som stora stickprov. This course constitutes the basis for studies in statistical theory on a more advanced level. In the first part of the course probability theory, distribution theory and properties for a random sample are thoroughly investigated. In the second part point estimation, hypothesis testing and interval estimation are dealt with extensively for small as well as large samples. Assessments: The course can be assessed through written examination, take-home examination, compulsory course components, paper, essay and/or oral examination.
