Delkurs 1, Makroekonomi, ger fördjupad kunskap om de kortsiktiga orsakssambanden som skapar konjunktursvängningar och särskild vikt läggs vid analys av de finansiella marknadernas funktionssätt och deras koppling till den reala ekonomin. I delkurs 2 fokuseras sedan på ekonomisk tillväxt och fördelning i ett långsiktigt globalt och nationellt makroekonomiskt perspektiv. Denna delkurs ger en betydande fördjupning av makroekonomiska teoriernas innehåll och förståelsen av långsiktiga makroekonomiska frågeställningar. Vidare behandlas ekonomisk tillväxt och fördelningsaspekter i utvecklingsländer. Kursen integrerar teori och empiriskt arbete. Delkurs 3, Strategiska beslut, ger fördjupade kunskaper om hur man med mikroekonomisk teori och spelteori analyserar individers och företags agerande i situationer som kännetecknas av ömsesidigt beroende. Vidare ges fördjupad kunskap om beteendet i olika marknadsformer. I den sista delkursen ges bredare kunskap inom ett av nationalekonomiämnets tillämpningsområden. På höstterminen är det tillämpningsområdet hälsoekonomi, medan det på vårterminen är miljöekonomi. Övrigt: Studenter rekommenderas starkt att ha läst kurser i statistik om minst 30 hp där grundläggande statistik, regressionsanalys och matematik ingår. The course consists of four different sub-courses. Sub-course 1 - short run macro economics - provides in-depth knowledge of how shocks affect demand, production and employment. The course gives an understanding of the trade-off between inflation and unemployment and the roles of monetary and fiscal policy in the open economy. Attention is also paid to the analysis of the functions of the financial markets and their connections with the real economy Sub-course 2 focuses on economic growth and distribution in a long-term global and national macroeconomic perspective. This course provides a significant insight into the content of macroeconomic theories and the understanding of long-term macroeconomic issues. Furthermore, economic growth and distribution aspects are dealt with in developing countries. The course integrates theory and empirical work. Sub-course 3 - intermediate micro economics - provides in-depth knowledge in demand theory, production theory and decisions under risk. The course also contains a great deal of game theory, which is applied to understand behavior in monopolies, duopolies, voting mechanisms, auctions, in the provision of public goods and in situations characterized by asymmetric information. The final sub-course provides a broader knowledge within one of the fields of application of the Economics. In the autumn term, it is the field of health economics, while in the spring term it is environmental economics. Students are strongly advised to have studied courses corresponding at least 30 credits in statistics where basic statistics, regression analysis and mathematics are included.
