En introduktion till virusstruktur och funktion ingår i kursen. Vidare behandlas generell medicinsk mikrobiologi och epidemiologi. Därtill ges grunderna i säker laborativt arbete med bakterier. The course provides basic knowledge of the structure, physiology and function of prokaryotic cells. An introduction to bacteria and archaea diversity and nomenclature is also given. Introduction to virus structure and function is included in the course as is generally medical microbiology and epidemiology. In addition, the basics of safe laboratory work are with bacteria will be introduced.
